This software component has been developed for Microsoft Visual Basic 5.0/6.0, using a VB5 Service Pack 3 machine. If you are intending to use Code Manager with Visual Basic 5.0, we strongly recommend that you run Service Pack 3 before installation.
It is recommended that you select the Backup Existing Files option during setup.
If this installation replaces a previous version of Code Manager, it is recommended that you back up the Code Manager database (cm.mdb) and remove the previous installation via the Windows Add/Remove Programs utility. Following this, re-run this installation. Then, restore the Code Manager database so that any saved code is again available.

Code Manager 1.1
================
If you have ever wanted a tool that can save you time, all the time, Code Manager is for you. This is not a high-level tool with a few task-specific features. Instead, Code Manager helps you with the core of all software development - programming.
Features
========
1. Error Handling
-----------------
Have you ever skipped adding error handling to your code, or been given entire modules of code with no error handling at all? Not a problem - look at these features.
- Automatically add customizable error-handling code to new and existing procedures - you will never need to laboriously type another line of standard error handling again!
- Automatically adds your choice of comment stubs (including none at all) to all new procedures, and to existing procedures of your choice.
- Can add code to entire modules at a time!
- Subs, Functions, Property procedures - all these are quickly dealt with by Code Manager.
2. Code Storage & Retrieval
---------------------------
Every programmer has their own library of useful functions, but not every programmer wants to include the entire module/s in every project. So...
- Code Manager can store all your procedures in its database, and insert them into your code with a couple of clicks of the mouse. No copy-and-paste required.
- Group your procedures into categories for easy storage and retrieval.
- Build up a programming toolkit with your colleagues - the database can be shared on the server.
- No need to rewrite procedures ever again!
3. Block comment/uncomment
--------------------------
Unlike other programming languages, Visual Basic does not have a comment operator that allows for commenting large blocks of code. Thus, to comment a number of lines of code, programmers had to move through the code, commenting line by line. Not any more.
- Select the code block you wish to comment out.
- Right-click in the module window and choose Comment Selection. Your code is commented out with the Visual Basic comment symbol followed by a prefix you can specify.
- You can choose to comment at the far left of the screen, or at the lowest indent level in the selected block.
- Uncommenting is just as easy - simply select the block again, right-click in the module window, and choose Uncomment Selection.
